School places for Reception in September 2025

All admissions to Ashleworth Church of England School for Reception places are handled by Gloucestershire County Council. You must apply to the county council for a primary school place, even if you have put your name down at our school or your child has an older sibling already at Ashleworth.

The online application service to apply for a primary/infant reception place for September 2025 will be open from November 2024.  More information can be found here.

When do children start primary school in Gloucestershire?

In Gloucestershire children can start primary/infant school/academy, if their parents wish, in the September of the school year in which they become five. The school year starts on 1st September and finishes on the 31st August.

All new applications for Reception and Year 3 will be made between November and January for intake in September 2025.
